Generalist or expert?
Such is the eternal debate that we impose on ourselves and that society imposes on us. Do you necessarily have to have your own expertise, your own style to be recognized and esteemed? Do we have to lock ourselves into boxes to have value? Few are the innovators, the real inventors and all of them were inspired by masters, referent predecessors. In May do what you please and why in May only? Freedom goes through this notion of independence in relation to a goal, an objective if not that of having fun. This painting uses today's codes, flashy colors, the so-called sensual side of cigarette smoke. You will find other versions in physical or virtual galleries. Again this will appeal to some and not to others. This pop art influence is real and enjoyable. It is there by continuing to feed on other styles and trends that will catch my own eyes and hoping one day that this debate quoted above will cease.
